Default What's with item pricing these days?

Just as an example..

Before new tombs: Razorstone goes for 75K

After new tombs: Victo's axe goes for 50K, Razorstone's pricing is too low to even print.

Strangely it is not like one replaced the other at the previous price point, pricing for both collapsed!

Market overload. Many of the SF greens simply suck, and everyone already has the decent ones.

Availability (due to massive farming) outpacing demand.

razorstone and victos axe are not even that good, razorstone's forced +1 axe suffix and victos forced sundering prefix make them worse then a weapon you can make yourself. i guess people are starting to understand you can make a better weapon for cheaper

my 0.02 cents

i think all prices are going down becose , there is a massive turn back to the game from many peple that didnt play so much anymore , now with the new update ie new tombs , and the guildwars factions fever , i feel the game is more populated , i could be roung , but the prices going down is also a obvius prof of that . more of everything , less demand. i think its no reason to panic , all markets have ups and downs ...

I was happy to get all the warrior gear in the new Tombs in 4 runs. Now what kind of luck is that? I like them all and sundering is still useful, I use another axe with +20%<50 with 3/1 vampiric and +30 hps for the low side of things, and at the top side I use the Sundering(Victo's Axe) and a Fiery mod Axe. I worry about hps as I'm getting close to 50% health. Then swap over to that +20%<50 (customized of course for an added +20%) and I'm good to go hopefully to survive those one on ones I find myself in sometimes. Works great farming also. I really only need one more axe now, one with +20% vs dwarves so I can beef up my soloing damage in most all of S. Shiverpeaks.

The advantages of PVE to PVP is that you can use ALL these weapons and not just be restricted to two. I like that. (smile)

Also people are starting to hang on to their money for the release of Factions, which would force seller's prices down

You are aware that the DPS dealt by a vampiric weapon are considerably greater than thatof a sundering one? The health degen is also negated by its life stealing nature.

Oh? Checked on the price of +30 HP upgrades lately?

So if you want to make a sundering axe of fortitude and max it out then the two upgrades alone you require would cost pretty much double what a Victo's Battle Axe would cost you and you need the 15 over 50 axe to put them on.

The caveat is that unlike an axe you make yourself this cannot be altered.

Seriously, this is much easier than farming for 50-75K to buy one.

Even if you're not lucky enough to get the one you want, you will still get something nice that you can sell or maybe even trade for the one you really want.

Actually, I'd put it a different way...

People are trying to accumulate as much gold as possible for Factions, and as a result are dumping many of their rarer items that have been sitting in storage on the market. I guess there is a worry that many of these items may not be marketable once Chapter 2 comes out, because of possible replacement or because everyone will be infatuated with the new characters/items.
